Review of Yonex Muscle Power 29

Muscle Power Technology: As the name indicates, the concept of Muscle Power Technology is to utilize the energy while hitting a shuttlecock in a better way. In other badminton rackets, in the passage, there is contact friction between the sharp edges of the frame and strings. For this, there is a loss of transferred energy to the shuttlecock due to the development of stresses and fatigue.

Muscle Power rackets have improvements over this constraint for powerful shots. This is done by making rounded archways in the frame grommets so that frictionless contact can be achieved between strings and the frame. The result is a better transformation of energy from the string bed to the shuttlecock.

Isometric Head: All the racket frames in the Muscle Power series have been designed with isometric heads. Isometric head frames are more beneficial to beginners and intermediate players. The area of horizontal strings and vertical strings are almost the same which gives more intersectional area between them. So you get more hitting area on the string bed which we call the sweet spot.

Slim Shaft with built-in T-joint: One interesting thing about this Muscle Power 29 is that the shaft of this racket is 10 mm longer and slim. This increases the flexibility and repulsive Power of the racket.

This is a jointless racket. The built-in T-joint connects the head with the shaft for better transmission of power.

  1. I am using MP 29 lite for the past 3-4 years, i really like this racket for playing doubles. wanted to upgrade to a next racket to enhance my skills; i play both defensive and offensive play well with good smash/ drops and net play. can u suggest a good racket for me?

    1. If you play both singles and doubles, you may try the Arcsaber 7 or 11. But if you are more prone to doubles, you may try the Astrox 88D or 88S, otherwise, the Nanoflare 700/ 800 is the best option.

      1. Thanks!! But its quite expensive as i am not a professional player. I am playing only doubles; can u suggest the rackets just below to astrox 88d pro range? I like to play with astrox 88d pro, but its very expensive for me. But i can afford a range upro 5k-8k ₹. Please suggest some of the best racket for my play of style mentioned above?

  2. Can u suggest some racket which is in the range of 5-8k. I like astrox 88d pro, its quite expensive for unprofessionals like me, want same type of a racket. I play only doubles. Thanks in advance

      1. Okay thanks! One more thing would like to know if you have time! Is Astrox 88D game is better than ashaway/ apex/ Lining rackets with the same budget?

        1. Astrox 88D Game is specifically made for doubles players who love to play from the backcourt. Though the selection of a brand someway depends on personal preference, in my view, the 88D Game is ahead of the rackets of other brands in this segment within the same budget.
