It’s easy to play and fun for everyone! To start playing the game, it is essential to have an idea of the dimensions of a pickleball court.

A standard pickleball court has the same size as a badminton court which is 20 ft by 44 ft. The suspension arrangement of the net is similar to a tennis net. The net height is 34 inches in the middle and 36 inches at the posts. The minimum recommended playing surface is 30 ft by 60 ft.

Non-volley Zone: The area bounded by the non-volley line, sidelines, and the net is referred to as Non-volley-zone (NVZ).

Centerline: The line that draws perpendicularly from the center of the baseline up to the non-volley line

Service Area: It is the area beyond the non-volley zone on either side of the centerline including the baseline, sideline, and centerline.

A pickleball court is rectangular in shape, divided into equal parts by a net. The dimensions of a pickleball court are governed by the official USA Pickleball Rule Book. All the dimensions are the same for singles and doubles games.

• Length of the service court = 15 ft (4.57 m)
• Width of the service court = 10 ft (3.05 m)

Measurement of the Non-Volley-Zone

• Area of the Non-Volley Zone = Length of Non-volley line (NVL) x Distance of NVL from net
• Length of the Non-Volley Line = 20 ft (6.10 m)
• Distance of N-Volley-Line from the net = 7 ft (2.13 m)
