GKI Offensive XX Table Tennis Racket Review

GKI Offensive XX table tennis bat is built with a wooden blade pasted with soft rubbers. It offers good spin and average speed. Control is excellent. The Offensive XX is good for recreational and club-level players, not for new aspirants. It is the best-selling racket under 1000 rupees in India. Itโ€™s a racket of value for money.

The Offensive XX has a wooden blade. Regarding manufacturing details, nothing is available anywhere including the GKI official website. After visually inspecting, it seems to be a 3-ply blade. The handle is flared (FL), but the enlargement toward the end is relatively less than the other rackets I have experienced.

The topsheet is not grippy. After removing the side tape, the rubber seems 2.0 mm thick with an orange-colored sponge. The rubber feels soft and is protected by a side tape. The โ€œTTFI Approvedโ€ marking ensures the racketโ€™s approval for state and national-level tournaments.

Like all GKI rackets, the Offensive XX also comes with a carrying cover.

My GKI Offensive XX table tennis bat

What I have experienced is different from what is advertised by the manufacturer. Itโ€™s not at all an offensive racket. Rather it it suits all-round play and offers great control. It can also generate a good amount of spin.

The Offensive XX is excellent for pushing. It is easy to control my pushes and I can place the ball with supreme authority. Due to the softness of rubber, my pushes are very spinny and the slow nature helps me to put the ball consistently on the table.

For counter-hitting, the ball doesnโ€™t fly from the racket, rather the ball deflects at a slow pace. I have to put some extra effort into counterbalancing my stroke. The racket does not act as an additive for offensive strokes. Itโ€™s good for beginners to use their arm power in their early stages.

Itโ€™s a medium-heavy bat with a flared grip, the most convenient way to hold a racket for new players. The grip is not as good as expected. The enlargement towards the end is slightly less. The grip is also slightly small and loose. I donโ€™t feel comfortable while holding the racket.

GKI Offensive XX is purely a paddle for amateurs, not for serious learners. It offers excellent control. The racket gives the confidence to place the ball on the board consistently. It can add more color and excitement to the game by prolonging the rallies for which the racket is designed.

The Offensive XX is the best buy under 1000 rupees for recreational and club-level players in India.
