The 8 Most Trusted Table Tennis Brands in India

The easiest way to avoid poor-quality purchases is to stick with trusted and reliable table tennis manufacturers.
With 16 years of playing experience and countless purchases across various brands, I’ve seen how product quality can vary widely, in a market dominated by Indian manufacturers alongside some global names.
Top table tennis brands focus on quality control, innovation, and players’ feedback to deliver equipment suited to every skill level. In this blog, I highlight the 8 best table tennis brands in India and explain why choosing the right brand matters.

Stag, the best table tennis table brand in India

STAG, the leading Indian table tennis brand based in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, began its journey in 1922. Through continuous innovation and research, it has earned global recognition. Today, STAG is the official sponsor for over 60 National Associations, including India.

Renowned for delivering top-quality products at competitive prices, this company has become a trusted name in the sport. Its tournament-grade tables, such as the STAG Americas 16 and 1000 DX, are widely used in National and State-level events across India.

STAG tables have featured in prestigious events like the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 and the 2024 World Master Championship in Rome. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has officially accredited the brand, further cementing its international reputation.

Stag rackets, like the Stag Ninja Attack, are designed to fulfill the requirements of beginners and casual players, not experienced players. Stag Supreme, used in National events, is an outstanding ball for quality and reliability.

GKI, a Meerut-based Indian table tennis manufacturer, was founded in 1962. It is known for its affordable and quality products for beginners and intermediate players.

The GKI rackets are popular among amateur and club-level players. The popular Offensive XX and Kung Fu DX are available under 1000 rupees, while the Euro V is priced well below 2000 rupees.

GKI rubbers are authorized by the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). Some professional-quality rackets, like the Euro XX, are approved by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

Butterfly, the most renowned brand in table tennis, was founded in 1950.  It is known for its high-quality equipment. Apart from its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, this company has established offices in Germany, China, and South Korea to meet the global demand.

Butterfly Timo Boll, Wakaba, and Addoy are Butterfly’s most popular premade bats in India. They are suitable for beginners and casual players.

Butterfly enjoys greater popularity among serious players, especially for its high-quality rubbers and blades. The brand uses advanced, innovative technologies to meet the demands of professional-level play. Its Tenergy 05 rubber stands out as the most popular in the world and is a benchmark against which many other rubbers are compared.

Butterfly sponsors top players and coaches worldwide and has been the official equipment supplier for numerous international tournaments.

Donic is a German brand known for its innovative equipment and association with top European players like Jan-Ove Waldner, Jorgen Persson, and Mikael Appelgren.

It has a wide range of premade rackets (mostly Waldner series) available in India. The Sensation Line 700, designed for all-round play, is the most popular.

Serious players recognize this company more for its rubbers and blades. Donic Bluestorm and  Appelgren Allplay are some of the familiar names in these categories.

STIGA, a renowned Swedish brand established in 1944, is famous for producing top-quality table tennis equipment for players of all levels. In the premade racket category, STIGA stands out with a diverse range of options catering to beginners, recreational players, and advanced players. Stiga Pro Carbon and Stiga Nitro are popular in India for their excellent performance and value.

STIGA Clipper, one of the best-selling blades, is renowned for its control-oriented offensive play. As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of table tennis gear, STIGA has served as an official equipment supplier for numerous prestigious international competitions.

Double Happiness Sports (DHS), founded in China in 1959, has earned global recognition as the official equipment supplier for prestigious tournaments like the Olympic Games and the World Table Tennis Championships. DHS is widely respected for producing high-quality balls, blades, and rubbers trusted by professional players worldwide.

In India, the DHS D40+ stands out as the most preferred ball, offering reliable bounce, solid feel, impressive durability, and great value for money. Among rubbers, the DHS NEO Hurricane 3 enjoys massive popularity due to its outstanding spin potential and excellent price-to-performance ratio, making it a top pick for serious players.

Palio-ETT is a joint effort between Palio, a well-known Chinese table tennis equipment manufacturer, and the Expect Table Tennis (ETT) online community. They have designed the Palio Expert, Master, and Legend series to suit players of varying skill levels. These bats have gained popularity in India for delivering excellent performance at an affordable price.

Gymnco, another Meerut-based brand, may not have the international recognition of STAG, but it delivers cheap but good table tennis tables ideal for recreational use. Gymnco Practice, Massive, and Perfect are popular choices across homes, schools, and offices throughout India. These tables are more popular for casual and training purposes, not for competitive tournaments.
